Swings and roundabouts: playground equipment by Isamu Noguchi-
Isamu Noguchi is best know for his sculptural wood and glass coffee table and his paper ‘Akari’ lights. This playground equipment was designed in 1939 for Ala Moana park in Hawaii but unfortunately was never built as the park comissioner died before the scheme was realised. I’m not sure how successful the equipment would be for play, but visually it’s pretty amazing (and that’s the most important thing) !
